After all, the societal advances are promoted by some elite prodigies in various areas. If those intelligent,talented and industrious students get the rewards they rightly belong, they may have few material concerns and they can focus on the research or study which they are passionate about. By doing so, they are more likely to come up with some original and great inventions.
_ If students who make the greatest improvements get rewarded, some students may be misled, believing that be at the bottom of the ranking is fine as long as they can make great strides. If everyone thinks this way, the reward cannot serve as an incentive to motivate students to become better.
Giving awards to those who perform well academically does not necessarily mean students making great strides do not deserve a prize. The students’ teachers and parents may give oral encouragement and praise to them because it is in everyone’s nature to love being exalted. If students are praised genuinely, they may feel proud of themselves and challenge something more difficult and achieve that goal later.
