PTE Re-tell Lecture

I’m usually thinking about memory in conjunction with legal cases and so I spent a lot of time, for example, thinking about the people in our country, and even other parts of the world who have been convicted of crimes that they didn’t do. There is one project in New York, the innocence project that has gathered data on more than 300 individuals who were convicted of crimes they didn’t do, they spent 15, 20, 25 years in prison collectively more than 4,000 years until DNA testing prove their actual innocence and when these cases have been analysed and they have been, it’s been discovered that close to three quarters of them are do the wrongful conviction is caused by faulty memory, so I think this is a pretty nice way of motivating my students and others who want to learn something about human memory.
