PTE Re-tell Lecture

Here is another one of my favourite stories. This is a story about poodles, all right. This is one of my most favourite poodle pictures. It was actually given to us by the owner, who is very very talented photographer. And this is a story about genetic susceptibility to squamous cell carcinoma of the digit. Ok, so squamous cell carcinoma of the digit or of the we would say finger or nail bed. It’s actually the most common form of squamous cell carcinoma in dogs about 44.4% of squamous cell of carcinoma in, especially in the poodles, but in other dogs, actually occurs here in the nail bed. It is a locally very aggressive cancer and it’s pretty breed-specific. So if you are a giant schnauzers, your chances of coming down with this are 22 fold greater than the average mixed breed dog walking down the street. That’s huge, that’s huge.
