Blood Test
THE CONVERSATION BETWEEN A PATIENT AND A NURSE WHO IS WORKING IN A LOCAL CLINIC, WHICH IS ABOUT GETTING A BLOOD TEST DONE.
E: Good morning. What can I assist you with today?
C: 我今天来主要是来抽血的，我这里有我的医生的转诊信。
E：No problem. Could you please let me have a look at the referral letter？
C：好的，这是医生的转诊信。我之前从来没有抽过血。因为我会晕血。
E： We might have another way. When I am taking the blood, you can choose to lie down on the bed rather than sit down if you like.
C: 哎呀，我不想听到你刚刚所说的。我一想到或说到抽血，我就想晕血甚至感到头疼。
E：Before the test， could you tell me whether you are left-handed or right-handed？
C: 为什么你要问我个问题？这和抽血有什么关系吗？
E： We don’t wanna draw the blood from your dominant hand，because it might cause bruising and swelling。
C: 那我明白了，我是左撇子。
E: Alright, could you please lie down with your head tilted？You can try to relax and clench your fist and when I finish drawing the blood, I will tell you.
C: 我一般通过深呼吸来放松自己，而且想象自己在一个阳光明媚的一天，靠近美丽的瀑布的地方。
E：all done.
C: 哇塞，那么快就结束了，我一点都没感觉。谢谢你的耐心。
