Hi, my name is Simon Sheridan, I’m one of the research scientists here in Open university working on the tally instrument, which is currently on the field landing on the surface of comets. You may be aware at the moment we’ve lost communications with the lander and this is mainly due to the open spacecraft had to go back away from the surface because as the comet approaches the sun, the activity increases and there are a lot of material floating around which is becoming hazard to spacecraft, so the safe space that they are back to a safe distance. What happened about a month ago is the comet reaches approaches to the sun and now it’s all way out of solar system, so we anticipate the activity will come down and this would allow the orbiting spacecraft to get closer and closer to the surface and we’re really hopeful we’ll be able to re-establish the communications in the coming months. It is happenes and what we can actually do is we’re gonna pick up what we left off last year, last November when we were doing the initial measurements and carrying on doing more science and add to what we’ve already learnt about the surface of the comet.
