There are many processes in physics that do add weight to the idea that space is a real physical entity. Even Einstein’s theory itself, when space warps, it pushes objects around, space’s doing something that makes it feel real. Some recent observations which have to do with something called Frame Dragging. It’s a fancy name, but the idea is that when an object spins in space, it’s sort of a pebble in molasses. It can drag space around with it and you should be able to observe that and recent experiment called Gravity Probe B has actually studied that and found that the twisting of the space due to the spinning of the earth does twist space not by a lot, tiny a little bit, was very hard to measure, but they’ve now measured the twisting of space coming from this molasses-like effect of the earth spinning inside of the space and yes that does help us add a degree of confidence to this idea that space is a real thing.
