The table shows the number of inbound visitors to Australia in 2005 and 2006. In 2005 about 1.09 million visitors came from New Zealand, and the number dropped to 1.07 in 2006. The figure of German declined as well. However, the number of visitors from the United States increased from 700 thousand to 720 thousand and the figure of Japan increased too during the period. As for short-term stays, the number increased from 58 thousand to 64 thousand. In conclusion, we can say that New Zealand is the No.1 source country of the inbound visitors to Australia.
