Environmental problems cannot be solved by one or a few countries. Instead, they should be solved withinternational effort. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

We are facing a wide range of environmental challenges today. I agree with the idea that many of these challenges should be met with collaboration across national boundaries- for two main reasons.
The first one is that now problems such as oil spills and dust storms are so widespread that they can hardly be confined to one single country or region. （举例论证，有些环境问题不仅仅影响一个国家。）It is crucial that these problems be solved with international efforts. Each country and person should be made aware of their unique role in environmental protection.
The second reason why international joint efforts are needed to solve environmental problems is that（主语从句） each country has its own weakness in environmental protection. For example, although industrialised countries possess advanced technology and more financial resources for environmental protection, some of them do not want to address the problem of emission-induced climate change because they are afraid that reducing industrial and vehicle carbon emissions will slow down their industrial production and make their people’s lives less comfortable or convenient. Thus, other nations and international organisations have their roles to play in ensuring that industrialised countries fulfil their environmental responsibilities.
In reality, international cooperation in improving the environment involve many practical issues. Countries may have different views on environmental problems. As a result, to achieve international consensus （共识）on the measures that should be taken may take a long time. But the willingness to cooperate with each other at least will put them on the right track to finding solutions.
In conclusion, I believe that joint efforts should be made by countries to tackle environmental problems before the damage to the ecosystem becomes irreversible.
