Sure another vital experiment, is the stern-gerlach experiment and that’s an experiment where we learned that particles like electrons have a new intrinsic quantum quality that we just didn’t know about when we were thinking purely classically, namely they have a quality called spin, roughly you can think about the spin of an electron or any other particle as if it’s a little tiny top spinning around. But that’s limited in its utility, gives us a good mental image. But the quantum quality of spin is something that only emerges in quantum mechanics. And it basically tells us that the electron can either have a spin up or a spin down. And this stern-gerlach experiment allowed us to prove that, through the motion of electrons, those would spin up would move one way through this apparatus, those would spin down would move a different way through this apparatus. In that way, we recognise that in addition to mass, in addition to electric charge, particles like electrons also have spin.
