And in fact one of the meetings were putting together our group of conventional and organic farmers to look at what are our need for research on soil health. Believe me, conventional farmers are every bit as connected about the future the soils is organic farmers, they were using different systems but they’re trying to find better ways to deal with the consequences are the types of farming systems we move into doesn’t mean they go organic overnight, but it does mean looking for how we can find better practices and where do we get the knowledge. Adaptive research and outreach. How do you get things down to local level are all system for this which was the extension system, still there in bits and pieces but it’s no longer truly a national system and more and more there are farmers all over the country who are starting to talk about do we need to form a cooperative to finance research that will work on varieties and farming systems and other things that are directly relevant in our area because you know all farming is local. Soils are different climates are different you got all kinds of variables that need to be need to be taken into account and we had a system that can deliver on that and winning workforce development including technical training.
