The Standard Model of particle physics is a mathematical equation, a mathematical structure that has been developed to describe three of nature’s forces, the electromagnetic force, strong and weak nuclear forces as well as the particles of matter that those forces act upon. It is based upon quantum mechanics, it’s based upon something known as a yam-mills theory which is our understanding of how the nuclear forces and electromagnetic forces work and it is a very powerful framework for being able to make predictions for what should happen at particle accelerators around the world and the predictions of this mathematical structure had been brought out again and again and again.
