This always struck me as fascinating with black lives matter and then say her name because we have extensively and you know movement that started to launch by black weird women, you know, as we say and yet there had to be a kind of push back, an internal push back within the movement to claim the ways in which black women and girls are victims of state violence and so I don’t, I think black feminism to me and this is what I think both its beauty but also the challenge is that there is always a lag time, like things have to catch up to black feminism. I think black feminism is prophetic. I think it’s always vanguard, it’s always forward-looking, and it’s because it’s so deeply radical at its best and so everyone else is trying to figure out how do you think of like gender and sexuality and class and race and nationality all the same time. I mean it seems impossible for people to actually kind of live with all of these things and always I think black feminism kind of always forces us to do.
