Special relativity in some senses surely wrong, what we do in physics is we take current understanding which applies in one domain and we extend it so that it applies to a more broad spectrum of physical phenomenon. So Newton’s ideas work well when things are not too massive and not moving too quickly. Einstein came along and show that if things are moving quickly or very massive, Newton’s ideas need to be modified and that’s where we get special and general relativity, they embrace a wide range of physical phenomenon. But as we push into the quantum domain, very very small scales, we find yet other laws and we’re still struggling to figure how those quantum laws completely meld with the full spectrum of relativistic laws that Einstein found. And every indication we have is that Einstein’s ideas will need to be modified too in order that they can embrace an even bigger range of phenomenon that will include things that are fantastically smaller, fantastically energetic.
